This year, Robin Wright received her fifth Golden Globe nomination for her performance in The Girlfriend.

For this reason, she attended the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, accompanied by her boyfriend, Henry Smith.

Robin Wright first received Golden Globe recognition in 1994 with a nomination for Forrest Gump.

Two decades later, Wright made history by becoming the first actress to win a Golden Globe for a performance in a streaming television series, taking home the award in 2014 for House of Cards Season 1.

She went on to earn additional nominations in 2015 and 2016 for Seasons 2 and 3 of the same series.

This year, in the category of Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, the nominees included Claire Danes (The Beast in Me), Rashida Jones (Black Mirror), Amanda Seyfried (Long Bright River), Sarah Snook (All Her Fault), Robin Wright (The Girlfriend), and Michelle Williams, who ultimately won the award for Dying for Sex.

The Girlfriend, which Wright also directed and produced, was additionally nominated for Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television. However, the award went to Adolescence.

March 10, 2026: Robin Wright wins her second Satellite Award

The Satellite Awards are annual awards given by the International Press Academy.

Robin Wright has received 6 nominations and won the award for the first season of ‘House of Cards’ in 2014, and in 2026 for the miniseries ‘The Girlfriend’.

This year the other contenders for ‘Best Actress in a Miniseries, Limited Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television’ were: Amanda Seyfried (Long Bright River), Claire Danes (The Beast in Me), Michelle Williams (Dying for Sex), Rashida Jones (Black Mirror), and Sarah Snook (All Her Fault).

Previously, Wright earned two nominations in the film category, for ‘Moll Flanders’ (1996) and ‘Nine Lives’ (2005). In television, she was nominated for the first three seasons of ‘House of Cards’ and won the Satellite Award for Best Actress for the show’s first season on Netflix.

Unfortunately, Robin Wright did not attend the ceremony to accept the award. However, this is hardly surprising. Throughout her more than 40-year career, she has never been particularly fond of the spotlight at industry events, and she is known for rarely attending festivals, galas or awards ceremonies.

  1. I truly admire Robin Wright, but this is one thing about her that has always disappointed me. She rarely commits to attending awards ceremonies or film festivals.
I remember traveling to Morocco in December 2018 because she was scheduled to receive a lifetime achievement award at the Marrakech Film Festival, one prestigious and glamorous festival.
I went there specifically to see Robin Wright and to witness the tribute to her incredible career.
Unfortunately at the last minute she cancelled her appearance with what felt like a rather unconvincing excuse. She said something like she was held up by last-minute professional commitments. And that’s not true because at that time she was not filming or working on anything.
It was very disappointing. I had spent a lot of money and traveled all that way hoping to see her receive that honor.
As much as I admire her work, moments like that can be frustrating for fans who make the effort to be there and celebrate her achievements.
