January 21, 2018: Ninth SAG nomination for Robin Wright
The 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were presented on January 21, 2018. The nominees were announced on December 13, 2017.
Robin Wright received her fourth Screen Actors Guild Awards Nomination in the category of ‘Female Actor in a Drama Series’ for playing Claire Underwood on ‘House of Cards’ final season 5.
She also had two previous nominations for ‘Best Ensemble’ for the Netflix show in seasons 2 & 3.
Also, she was nominated for the movies ‘Forrest Gump’ & ‘She’s so lovely’, and the HBO Miniseries ‘Empire Falls’.
This year the nominees in the category of ‘Female Actor in a Drama Series’ were: Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Laura Linney (Ozark), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), Robin Wright (House of Cards) and Claire Foy who won the award for ‘The Crown’
Unfortunately, Robin Wright didn’t attend the ceremony.

December 2018: Robin Wright wins award at Marrakech Film Festival
The Marrakech International Film Festival was founded in 2001.
The 17th edition of the festival took place from November 30 to December 8, 2018.
On October 15, 2018, the Marrakech Film Festival announced that they would honor one of the film industries most talented woman: Robin Wright.
They would honor her with the Etoile d’Or Award (Golden Star Award), a career honor, the Honorary Award of the Festival.
Days later, Robin Wright said: “I’m honored to be receiving the l’Etoile d’Or award at this year’s Marrakech International Film Festival. I’m thrilled to be visiting the country of Morocco and grateful to be given this opportunity to experience the Moroccan culture and enjoy such a beautiful location.”
During the festival they projected some Robin Wright movies as ‘The Princess Bride’, ‘She’s so lovely’, ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘Blade Runner 2049’.
But sadly, at the last moment, Robin Wright was not able to attend the festival. She explained in a message that she was held up “by last-minute professional commitments”.
Robin Wright said: “I am very touched by this tribute to Marrakech. I was looking forward to discovering Marrakech, meeting the public and film lovers in Morocco. But these urgent and perfectly unexpected professional commitments make it impossible. Thank you all.”
