January 10, 2016: Fourth Golden Globe Nomination for Robin Wright
In 1994, Robin Wright received her first Golden Globe nomination for the movie ‘Forrest Gump’.
In 2014, Robin Wright made history because she became the first actress to win the Golden Globe Award for a streaming television series: ‘House of Cards’ S1.
In 2015, she received her third nomination for ‘House of Cards’ S2.
Now, Robin Wright is nominated again for ‘House of Cards’ S3. This year she’s the only one nomination for the Netflix show.
Sadly, Robin Wright didn’t attend the ceremony.
In the category of ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series (Drama)’ the nominees were Caitríona Balfe (Outlander), Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder), Eva Green (Penny Dreadful), Robin Wright (House of Cards) and Taraji P. Henson who won the award for ‘Empire’.
January 30, 2016: Sixth and Seventh SAG nominations for Robin Wright
The 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were presented on January 30, 2016. The nominees were announced on December 9, 2015.
After being nominated for the movies ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘She’s so lovely’, the HBO miniseries ‘Empire Falls’, and Netflix show ‘House of Cards’ S2, this year Robin Wright received 2 more nominations. They were:
- Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series: Claire Danes (Homeland), Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife), Maggie Smith (Downton Abbey), Robin Wright (House of Cards S3) and Viola Davis who won the award for ‘How to Get Away with Murder’.
- Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series: Game of Thrones, Homeland, House of Cards, Mad Men, and Downton Abbey that won the award.
Unfortunately, Robin Wright didn’t attend the ceremony.
July 14, 2016: Fourth and Fifth Primetime Emmy Nominations for Robin Wright
Robin Wright has received her fourth Primetime Emmy nomination in a row as Drama Lead Actress for ‘House of Cards’ Season 4.
But this season she has become an Executive Producer of the series so she also received another nomination because ‘House of Cards’ was nominated as Outstanding Drama Series
The Netflix series gets 13 Emmy nominations including Kevin Spacey, Michael Kelly, Reg E Cathey, Mahershala Ali, Paul Sparks, Molly Parker and Ellen Burstyn (she played Robin Wright’s mother).
In the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in A Drama Series these were the nominees: Claire Danes (Homeland), Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Keri Russell (The Americans) and Robin Wright (House of Cards).
