January 29, 2006: Third SAG nomination for Robin Wright
The 12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony took place on January 29, 2006. The nominees were announced on January 5, 2006.
After being nominated for the movies ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘She’s so lovely’, this year Robin Wright received her third nomination in the category of ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie’ for ‘Empire Falls’.
The HBO miniseries won Best Actor (Paul Newman) and also had nominations for Ed Harris and Joanne Woodward.
The nominees in the category ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie’ were Tonantzin Carmelo (Into the West), Cynthia Nixon (Warm Springs), Joanne Woodward (Empire Falls), Robin Wright (Empire Falls) and S. Epatha Merkerson who won the award for ‘Lackawanna Blues’.
Unfortunately, Robin Wright didn’t attend the ceremony.
March 4, 2006: Second Independent Spirit Nomination for Robin Wright
After being nominated as Best Female Lead for ‘Loved’ in 1998, this year Robin Wright received another Independent Spirit nomination as Best Supporting Female for her role of Diana in the movie ‘Nine Lives’.
Robin attended the ceremony of the 21st Independent Spirit Awards, but she didn’t win.
The other nominees were Allison Janney (Our Very Own), Maggie Gyllenhaal (Happy Endings) Michelle Williams (Brokeback Mountain) and Amy Adams who won the award for ‘Junebug’.
