June 6, 1997: Robin Wright wins Best Actress award at the Seattle Film Festival
The Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) is a film festival held annually in Seattle, Washington, United States, since 1976.
It is one of the largest festivals in the world, and features a diverse assortment of predominantly independent and foreign films, and a strong contingent of documentaries.
Robin Wright and husband Sean Penn attended the 23rd Seattle International Film Festival for the premiere of her new movie ‘Loved’ directed by Erin Dignam and starring Robin Wright and Willian Hurt.
In ‘Loved’, Robin Wright stars as a victim of domestic violence who, years later, is forced to testify against her former batterer, whose most recent girlfriend killed herself. The problem: She might still love him.
In this film, Wright gives an audacious performance as Hedda, an abuse victim who refuses to confine herself to that role.
For this role, Robin Wright was honored with the prestigious Golden Space Needle Award for Best Actress.
